How I Save Myself 50+ Hours a Week by Organizing My Life & Work Using Notion
If life seems out of control, this one thing can save you.

Our lives are running on autopilot.
We wake up to a blaring alarm, fumble for our phones, scroll half-asleep, convince ourselves we’ll be productive today, get distracted, scroll some more, and suddenly it’s 11 PM, and we have no idea where the day went.
Rinse. Repeat.
Don’t worry, if you do all these things, you’re not alone. Millions of people unknowingly live the same way, stuck in an endless cycle of distraction and lost time.
But isn’t there any way that can help you come out of this trap.
Drumrolls! There’s a way out there and it’s Notion.
What is Notion?
Notion is like an Ikea for your brain. It’s a mix of a planner, to-do list, a digital notebook, and a project management tool.

You can treat it like an all-in-one workspace where you can:
plan
organize
and track everything
The best part about Notion is it’s FREE and completely customizable. You don’t need to pay a dime to get started, and for most people, the free version is more than enough.
Their paid version is comparatively very cheap. It costs you 10$ a month!
How to Get Started with Notion?
If you’re new to Notion and don’t know anything about it, I’d suggest you watch this video by the ‘Productive Dude’.
He is damn good when it comes to teaching folks about Notion. Plus, he has a lot of related stuff on his channel that’ll help you a lot.
Once you’ve watched the entire video or become familiar with the basics, sign up for Notion and start exploring the dashboard. Experiment with the options and templates to get a sense of how everything works.
It may seem a bit complex, but it gets easier with time & practice.
How Do I Use Notion for Work & Life?
I’ve divided my Notion workspace into three different categories.
Content
Personal
Freelancing Gigs

Content: I create content on several platforms like Pinterest, Substack, LinkedIn, etc. so I use Notion to:
store my ideas (I watch a lot of stuff online, so I keep storing ideas that I can further use in my content)

create a content calendar (this keeps me sane. Every Saturday, I plan out my entire week’s content so I don’t have to wake up every day wondering what to post and where).

keep track of all my learnings, resources, and affiliate links (as I mentioned earlier, I watch a lot of stuff online. To ensure that I don’t lose track of all those people and resources that I’m exploring I’ve created a separate doc in Notion).

Note: I’m not sharing all the docs here, otherwise this article would be too long. I just wanted to give you an idea of what’s possible with this tool.
Take some inspiration from the docs that I’ve created. Then, think about your requirements. Finally, create and customize.
Remember: Your system should fit your brain, not the other way around.
2. Personal: I’ve recently turned 30. In my 20s, I didn’t pay much attention to self-care, self-improvement, or all that fancy stuff. But as I’m aging, I genuinely find this concept less of a luxury and more of a necessity.
So, I have a separate space in my Notion workspace that takes into account my personal things which include my:
daily tasks
meals
failures & successes
periods date (hey, that’s a must for girls!)
life guides
and stuff like that.

3. Freelancing Gigs: I’m also a freelancer. I work as a ghostwriter and copywriter. Plus, I also help other people with things like designing, branding, etc. So, the third and last section is reserved for my clients.
Apart from these three different categories, I also use Notion to create my digital products and build some forms.
Now, Your Turn!
Notion won’t fix your life magically.
It won’t wake you up at 5 AM, make you hit the gym, or stop you from scrolling endlessly when you should be working. But one thing is for sure:
It’ll give you a structure. It’ll help you manage your time, tasks, and ideas so you’re not constantly scratching your head.
Give it a try and let me know what do you think about it:)
