Happy Saturday, champ 💖
I was super excited to write this newsletter edition because I wanted to share a big win with you!
You might not know it, but I’ve been trying to get the verified badge on LinkedIn.
Wait…
Before you start thinking, what’s the big deal about getting a blue tick? Let me share my backstory with LinkedIn.
I created my first LinkedIn account during the lockdown (like so many of you!).
Did all the basics. Sent and accepted connection requests from my then target audience, aka people who fit my 9–5 circle.
Then the lockdown ended, and I got busy with life, leaving that account as it was.
16th December 2023: I quit my job.
June 2024: I decided to use LinkedIn seriously to grow my personal brand because I was seeing so many creators having massive success with this platform. So, I started posting and stayed consistent all the way till mid-December.
December 2024: I decided to shut that account down (I’ve already shared the reason here. Long story short, it wasn’t working the way I wanted it to).
January 2025: I created a new LinkedIn account. Things went well at first, but since the same ID was connected to my previous account, I couldn’t get verified. And LinkedIn kept shutting my profile down multiple times.
Even though they assured me I’d be able to verify it once the old data cleared…
I still kept facing issues.
I talked to the LinkedIn support, explained everything again and again. Also got in touch with my government authorities to delete duplicate records from their database that were causing the mismatch.
This whole thing took almost 6 months😤, and finally, a few days ago, I won this battle.
I verified my LinkedIn profile. Here’s the proof:
Plus, I’ve also hit 4k followers (again).
It was a wild ride, I must tell you.
I joined the 30-Day Creator Camp by Buffer🥳
Buffer is a social media scheduling tool that helps you plan, schedule, and stay consistent with your content.
Their team has organized a 30-Day Creator Camp where creators from around the world are showing up, learning together, and sharing their journey publicly.
I’m also a part of this creative mission.
Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I signed up. But it’s turning out to be such a good decision!
I’ve also started using Buffer properly now to schedule my posts. (Currently, I’m using it for LinkedIn. Will let you know if I start using it for Pinterest, too.)
Hopefully, by the end of this camp, I’ll have learned so much, both in terms of content and community-building.
I’ll definitely be sharing my learnings and experience with you.
Stay tuned:)
That’s it for today.
See you next week,
Sweta
