#8 How to Make Your First 1000$ (Even If You’re NOT the Lucky One)
(The 5-step plan that anyone on Earth can use)
Making your first 1000$…
I think this one milestone holds a special place for anyone who wants to make money online.
And, why not?
1000$ is a huge amount, not for everyone, but for most.
When I made my first 1000$, I couldn’t stop jumping on my bed!
That one moment was so unreal for me. (all thanks to the 9 and a half years of being stuck in my 9–5 mindset.)
But that mindset shifted, and it changed everything for me.
Now, with this post, I want to help change your mindset too, and show the exact roadmap that will lead you to your first $1000 milestone.
Are you all set?
Let’s begin!
1. Find What’s Your USP & Polish It
USP stands for Unique Selling Proposition.
It’s basically what makes you special and different from everyone else.
Think in a world full of people, what makes you stand out?
What can you offer that’s a bit different or better than what others bring to the table?
That’s your USP.
You can also ask the following questions to yourself to know about it:
What am I naturally good at?
What do people often compliment me on or come to me for help with?
What experiences have I had that most people haven’t?
Once you’ve identified your USP, polish it.
Learn as much as you can — watch YouTube videos, take free courses, and read blogs.
The internet is filled with awesome people who are ready to help you out, no matter which skills you want to master.
So, just search, find, and learn as much as you can.
Remember: The more you learn, the better you become.
2. Choose One Platform & Marry It
After refining your skills, you need to choose the right platform where you’ll start your online journey.
Take some time and think about which social media platform suits you the best.
Match your content type with the platform’s strengths.
If you love making videos, YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok might be the perfect fit for you.
But, if you’re more into writing, Medium, Twitter or LinkedIn could work for you really well.
When you’ve made your decision, marry the platform.
It means getting to know it inside and out — learning all its features, understanding how the algorithm works, and figuring out what kind of content works best there.
Remember: The more time you invest in learning the basics, the less time you’ll spend struggling later.
3. Create. Fail. Improve. Repeat
Now, comes the most important part of the process — creating.
Based on the platform you’ve chosen, start producing content that fits its style and audience.
Don’t worry about being perfect right off the bat.
The key is to just start producing, whether it’s videos, blog posts, or whatever fits your chosen platform.
Keep in mind, that your first attempts might not be amazing, and that’s totally OK.
In fact, it’s expected.
As you create, you’ll probably face some setbacks too.
Maybe a post doesn’t get the engagement you hoped for, or you’re not happy with how something turned out.
That’s all part of the process.
Instead of getting discouraged, use these experiences as learning opportunities.
Ask yourself what you can do differently next time.
Then, take what you’ve learned and apply it to your next creation.
This is how you improve and grow.
Remember: The more you experiment, the quicker you’ll figure out what works and what doesn’t.
4. Build a Clan Without Being Selfish
All the steps that you’ve followed until now are a complete waste if you don’t have an audience.
Your audience, or your ‘clan’, is the group of people who connect with what you’re creating.
They’re the ones who will decide your fate in this virtual world.
So, you better pay attention to them.
And, no, don’t just try to take advantage of them.
Instead, make efforts to provide them value or help them in whatever manner you can.
Think:
what are their pain points?
what questions do they have?
how can your skills solve their problems?
Make a note of all these things and create content that solves them.
5. Pack The Solutions & Sell
If you stay consistent, after a point of time, you get to a position where you know exactly what your audience is looking for and what you can provide.
This is when you start packaging those solutions into a product or service.
In my case, I get to know that people want to know about Pinterest.
So, I created the Pinterest Master Guide that sums up the whole step-by-step process by which I’m able to achieve 80 million views (without paid ads).
I then put it on Gumroad, and it started getting sales because I aimed at solving a real problem.

You also need to do the same — find real people, solve real problems.
Also, don’t try to only sell.
Focus on providing as much value as you can and that too for FREE.
I’ve created a dedicated publication on my profile that tells people — How to Grow on Pinterest.
If anyone wants to learn about Pinterest, they can go and check out tons of articles I already have.
They can see if what I’m teaching resonates with them and gives them a clear idea of the value I provide before they explore my products.
Remember: When your solution is essential, price becomes secondary.

I agree Sweta. That's why I created DigiPause. To make the full range of benefits that comes from taking some time off from any screens more accessible to people. One digital pause at the time. Its easier to digest anyway! But in this world of instant AI online coaches and programs, how can we make the idea of being less on a screen if people want more of it. How can it be more sellable?
Thanks for sharing this very easy and down-to-earth strategy to make real money. I wonder how the USP can apply with digital detox. It is already oversaturated on social media.
